Applications for the ELSA European Human Rights Moot Court Competition are open!
This Competition provides a unique opportunity for students to experience the principles and implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights firsthand. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to plead before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. The prize for each member of the winning team is a traineeship in the European Courts of Human Rights.
Here is a mini-breakdown of the dates you ought to remember!
1) REGISTRATION FOR COMPETITION:
Teams of between two and four people must register for this competition by the 18th of November 2018. As ELSA Maynooth will be registering your teams for you, please email us your expression of interest to email@example.com by the 12th of November 2018.
2) WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS:
Written submissions (one for both the Applicant and Respondent in the matter) are due on the 23rd of December. Again, as ELSA Maynooth will be responsible for forwarding on your submissions, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org by the 17th of December 2018.
3) ANNOUNCEMENT OF ACCEPTED COMPETITORS:
Teams will be informed as to whether they have been accepted to compete in the oral rounds by early March. Only twenty teams are accepted to compete in the oral rounds.
4) THE ORAL ROUNDS (FINAL ROUNDS):
The oral rounds for the competition will take place in Strasbourg, France, from the 15th to the 18th of April.
